Dr. Koa Jaques – Victoria, BC Optometrist

Dr. Koa Jaques first arrived at Oak Bay Optometry as an 11-year-old patient getting her first pair of glasses. Her experiences at the clinic led her toward a keen interest in vision care which has persisted throughout the years. As a student at Oak Bay High School, she began working at Oak Bay Optometry as an optometric assistant, and later as an optical dispenser helping to fit and select frames and lenses.
She continued working at the clinic throughout her undergraduate studies in Biology and Psychology at the University of Victoria. She credits the support of the doctors, staff, and patients at Oak Bay for helping to motivate her through the years of schooling leading up to obtaining her Doctor of Optometry Degree at the University of Waterloo.
Dr. Jaques enjoyed her clinical externships where she gained experience managing ocular disease and providing care to patients in diverse communities, including Northern rural Alberta and a busy metropolitan clinic in Ottawa.
She is thrilled to now be back in Victoria, working in the clinic and community where her optometry journey all began, this time as an O.D. Outside of work, Koa loves spending time with family and friends, crocheting, and exploring beautiful Vancouver Island.
