Oak Bay Optometry Culture
Oak Bay Optometry has been in business for over 25 years, and prides itself on its approach to customer service. Genuine connections with our community is so important to us, and we truly want to go the extra mile for our patients and ensure we are taking excellent care of them. The same attitude applies towards our working relationships with each other – our culture is an important part of who we are, and we aim to approach every day with compassion, gratitude, and joy. Laughter is an essential part of Oak Bay Optometry, and can generally be heard throughout the clinic whenever you come in.
Many of our patients have been coming here for years; the quality of our eye exams are top level. We have state of the art technology available so we can provide detailed insight into your eye health, and monitor for any changes. Our trained eyewear stylists will help you find the perfect look. Choose from our curated selection of independent, high-quality frame lines, and state of the art corrective lenses.
Dr. Paterson, Dr. Sutter, Dr. Paquette, and Dr Hua have each participated in volunteer eye care trips to developing countries such as Ethiopia, Senegal, Nicaragua, and Honduras. We continue to collect gently-used glasses to take places where people are unable to access eyecare due to poverty or lack of availability. Our doctors are also involved in the community and participate in public seminars several times a year. In addition, our doctors visit Haida-Gwaii twice a year and Klemtu annually to provide eye exams to First Nations people in remote communities. We are also focused on responsible environmental practices, and aim towards promoting sustainability and ethical choices with our products.
