Dr. Suzanne Sutter – Victoria Optometrist
Dr. Suzanne Sutter was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She completed a degree in microbiology at the University of Saskatchewan and then went on to attend optometry school in Waterloo, Ontario. After graduating from the Doctor of Optometry program in 2005, Dr. Sutter moved to Victoria to cover a maternity leave position, and then began working at Oak Bay Optometry in 2006. It didn’t take long for her to fall in love with life in Victoria, free of snow and mosquitoes.
Dr. Sutter enjoys all aspects of optometry and likes being able to provide individualized care for patients of all ages. She is happy to be working in a setting where she has access to the newest technology, allowing her to provide superior care for her patients. Dr. Sutter is keen on the ocular health aspect of optometry, which focuses on early disease detection, preventive care and treatment of eye disease. Of course, she also enjoys helping people to see more clearly! Dr. Sutter participated in a volunteer trip to Belize in 2008, where eye exams were performed on hundreds of people in poor communities. She found the experience to be very rewarding.
When Dr. Sutter is not at work, she likes to spend time out and about with her husband and young daughter, enjoying the things she loves most about Victoria – good food, good beaches, good running routes and good people! She is committed to the Oak Bay community and is hoping to grow her practice here for years to come.
