What’s New: January 2020

Happy New Year and welcome to 2020! We hope you had a wonderful holiday with family and friends. 2020 is going to be a big year for optometry and we can’t wait to share all the exciting things we have planned for the upcoming year. Be sure to follow us on Instagram (@oakbayoptometry) and Facebook to stay in the know.

NEW GEN 8 TRANSITION™ LENSES

These are not your parents’ light-sensitive lenses. New Gen 8 Transitions™ use breakthrough technology to help your lenses transition faster than ever while being darker outdoors and fully clear indoors. Transitions™ also offers vibrant Style Colors, including sapphire, amethyst, emerald, and amber, in addition to their Style Mirrors collection.

Come by Oak Bay Optometry to see samples Gen 8 Transitions™, Style Colors, and Style Mirrors and discuss if light-sensitive lenses are right for you. You can also visit transitions.com for more information.

CONTACT LENS RECYCLING

At Oak Bay Optometry we’re constantly looking for ways to reduce our impact on the environment and we’re happy to now offer a contact lens recycling program!

Due to the small size of contact lenses and their packaging, they’re usually filtered out during the sorting process at recycling facilities. Help to keep contact lenses out of our landfills and waterways by bringing your used contact lenses, blister packs, and foils into Oak Bay Optometry. Through Bausch & Lomb and Terracycle, we send your contact lenses to be recycled into things like agility ramps and waste stations for the Guide Dog Foundation. Cute!
