Transitions Gen 8 Fashion Show ft. Ay Lelum

It’s not every day we see snow in Victoria, BC (thankfully!), likewise, it’s not every day we at Oak Bay Optometry have the opportunity to grace the runway in custom clothing paired with Transition lenses. We had a blast channeling our inner Cindy Crawford, but the glitz and glam didn’t stop there, we also learned all about the newest and best Transitions technology. Click below to learn more!

We braved the snow to celebrate the launch of Transition Signature new Gen 8 lenses. This new photochromic lens uses breakthrough technology to help your lenses go darker outdoors, clearer indoors, and transition faster. Yes, we’ve tried them and yes, they’re noticeably improved.

We had the pleasure of learning from guest speaker Sheena Taff, of Optician About Town. In addition to teaching us about new the Transition Gen 8 lenses, she gave us some great insight into Transition Style Colours and Style Mirrors. With so many contemporary options, there’s no doubt there’s an on-trend and comfortable choice for everyone.

You can learn more about Transitions Lenses at their website, transitions.com. Visit Oak Bay Optometry to speak with one of our specialists and try all the colors for yourself.

All of us at Oak Bay Optometry are honored to have been asked to walk in the Transitions Gen 8 Launch Party fashion show. Aunalee and Sophia, the wonderful sisters behind Ay Lelum, made the trip from Nanaimo with pieces from they’re most recent collections.

Ay Lelum is a second-generation Coast Salish design house. Each item features Traditional Coast Salish art by Aunalee and Sophia’s brother and father. The garments are made in BC using high-quality and sustainable fabrics such as silk, chiffon, and Tencel modal. It truly is wearable art!

You can learn more about the history, artwork, and where to purchase these beautiful pieces over on their website, aylelum.com.

Thank you to everyone involved with this great event!
