What’s new at OBO: May 2019

May 2019 what's new

Hurray May! Rain or shine, we have some fun events coming up including a Barton Perreira Trunk Show and training for the Ride Don’t Hide fundraising bike ride in June. In addition, Oak Bay Optometry will have a team racing in the Oak Bay Half Marathon Relay (yes, we are apparently an office of full of athletes).  We have new Axon Optics lens technology available for those who experience sensitivity to light and migraine, also beautiful new frames from WOOW, Kilsgaard, and Lamarca. Click below to learn more!

BARTON PERREIRA TRUNK SHOW

If you highly value impeccable craftsmanship and timeless design, Barton Perreira is a frame brand worth exploring. On Thursday, May 30th, we will have the entire Barton Perreira collection in store. From 1pm – 6pm you will have the opportunity to try all styles, see all colours and materials, and speak with our Barton Perriera representative, Sylvain. Join us Thursday, May 30th from 1pm – 6pm to enjoy some tasty treats and browse the complete Barton Perreira collection.

RIDE DON’T HIDE

Come join Shaggy & The Rat Traps, led by our very own Neil Paterson, for the eighth annual Ride Don’t Hide fundraising bike ride! Ride Don’t Hide is the largest mental health bike ride in Canada, raising more than $2 million each year for the Canadian Mental Health Association. Sign up for the 5km walk or 1 of 5 rides of different lengths and difficulties. On Sunday June 23, join us with your family and friends and help bring awareness to mental health.

To find out more and register, visit Ride Don’t Hide today!

Join or sponsor Shaggy & The Rat Traps and if you’re among the first 50 riders/donators to do so, you will be entered in a draw to win a pair of sunglasses of your choice at Oak Bay Optometry.

NEW AXON OPTICS THERAPEUTIC EYEWEAR

Do you suffer from light sensitivity or migraine? More than 90% of migraine suffers are light sensitive. SpectaShield™ FL-14 lenses, developed by Axon Optics, use advanced light-filtering technology to reduce the symptoms of migraine and help block irritating artificial lighting (ex. fluorescent lights and computer screens).

All Axon Optics lenses are available in prescription or non-prescription, in three tints including Indoor, Outdoor, and Transitions®. Visit a doctor and come by the clinic to learn more.

NEW WOOW FRAMES

Still on the hunt for that perfectly unique frame? We have received new off-beat and chic WOOW frames at Oak Bay Optometry. As well, we have we’ve had new Kilsgaard and Lamarca frames arriving over the past few weeks. Now is the time to check what’s new and find a frame that is anything but boring!

CLOSED VICTORIA DAY

We will be closed Monday, May 20th for Victoria Day. Happy long weekend everyone!
